There wasn't supposed to be any storm activity but right as I was finishing up an appointment on the south side of town I could see some storms popping up down southeast. I started heading that way, passing through Benson and then arriving in Texas Canyon where I shot for a little while. Suddenly, I heard thunder from just the other side of the mountain where I had just come from. I quickly threw all my gear in the car and jumped on the freeway. I found this spot on the west side of Benson just in time. This cell was dropping lots of bolts and the sun was lighting it from behind just perfectly.

Location
This was shot in southeast of Tucson, Arizona.Time
It was getting close to sunset, but the sun was still just high enough to light up the clouds from behind.Lighting
NaturalEquipment
Shot with a Nikon D750 mounted on a tripod.Inspiration
Storms have always been my favorite thing to photograph. Capturing something that only lasts a fraction of a second definitely has its challenges, but there's nothing quite so spectacular.Editing
