Location
Well there is a "greifvogelpark (bird of prey, i guess)" near my home Village Lam, which is a little eldorado to shoot except the annoying fences.Time
It was in the afternoon, nothing special. I think the sea-eagle didnt pay any attention to it. But what was confusing him was the amount of people in the area, which included some dogs to. So he was on his toes and reacted allot to it.Lighting
Only natural light. But it was a kinda cloudy day, so it was a little gamble.Equipment
For that shot i used no tripod. Considering the exposure time of 1/125 it requires just a steady hand and "a not so fast moving eagle". My equipment itself is pretty basic. The shot itself was made with a Canon eos 1000d and a canon EF 75-300 mm 4.5-5.6. So all in all pretty basic equipment.Inspiration
For the most part i only do landscape and in the winter snowboard photography. So i was very curious how some animal portrait photography is turning out. I wish I could say the shot would be a wildlife shot , but as mentioned it was made in a park around my village. So im pretty hooked it turned out that well for my first day in animal and furthermore portrait photography.Editing
I tried to use my post-processing routine from landscape photography to this. But in the end, i did little to nothing. Some masks with sharpen, contrast and color adjustments. I only tried to enhance the color of the beak and highlight the feathers. In my camera bag
A canon 1000d and a sigma 10-22m, which companions me since i started in 2011. I added overtime a cheap 75-300mm 4.5 and a 50mm 1.8. Furthermore there are some filters, remote shutters and a around 4-5 cheap lightweight tripods. Im still trying to max out every aspect of my equipment.Feedback
Go out and try. Simple as that.
