Location
This photo was taken in a small plantation on the Faroe Islands.Time
This was in the summer time, it was taken on 6th of August, 2015 at 19.17 PM.Lighting
For the most of the time I work with very minimal equipment. The lighting is all natural, I did not use any kind of flash or reflector. I liked the way the light was peeking through the branches down on her and there was no need to add more.Equipment
I used the Nikon D800 with my "go to" Nikkor 50mm 1.4 lens.Inspiration
I was lucky to borrow some beautiful handmade dresses from a danish designer. I brought them with me to the Faroe Islands and made some photo shoots in the beautiful Faroese nature.Editing
I did very minimal post processing on this one. First I opened it with Camera Raw and added some sharpness to the image, and made some adjustments to the curves. Afterwards I used photoshop for dodging and burning to make the highlights pop a little more. The colours were not adjusted in any way.In my camera bag
The first thing you'll find in my camera bag is my trusty Nikon D800. The choice of lenses depends on what I am going to shoot. Normally I have three that I choose between. The Nikkor 50 1.4, Sigma 35mm 1.4 Art Lens and last but not least the Petzval 85mm 2.2 Art Lens. Also I always carry a back-up battery and CF card. If I have a portrait session I also bring my Lastolite reflector.Feedback
Location and lighting is key. I always keep my eyes open and scout for locations on a day to day basis, if I find a good one I grab my phone, snap a quick photo. Also be aware of the light, on what time of the day it will be the perfect for shooting. And try not to go overboard with equipment. The less equipment the more freedom you have running around with your model and trying different setups. Work with your surroundings.
