The Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest that is 5000 years old tree located in the oldest forest in the world (Pine Forest White Mountains, CA.). One of my fave spot on many iconic places in California.
It took me several shots to get the right angle of this moon burst that partially blocked by the tree.
Thanks for viewing and your thoughts.

It's such an analogy to life itself...age, decay and beauty . I love that sun burst, too. EXCEPTIONAL !!!

Wow, this takes my breath away - it is outstandingly good. You are right - God's creations are magnificent but through your lens you are a true messenger that shows and reflects his creations. I am now off to your gallery. I don't usually gush but you make me - lol

Location
This image was taken in Bristlecone Pine Forest White Mountains Inyo, California during my recent visit. I’m a “Pinoy” travel landscape photographer that is based in Kuwait. Being able to shoot this iconic place is a dream come true and how I wish I would have a chance to return in the future.Time
This is interesting tree that still exist today which is around 5000 years old, the oldest living tree that is located in the remote place in the world. This image is one my favorite shot of this Bristlecone Pine tree. This was taken on July 2, 2015 around 9:00 pm. eastern time.Lighting
This is 30sec. (long exposure) shot for the shutter speed at an aperture of f/9 @ISO 640. It took me several shots to get the right angle of the moon burst that is partly blocked by the tree. It was a bit dark around the corners so moving around focusing and composing is a bit challenge but using a flash light has a big help to capture. Lighting is critical during the night because of the shadows formed depending on the angle of lighting used.Equipment
This was shot on a Canon 5D MarkIII, Canon EF 16-35 f/4 Lens, Gitzo CF Tripod with Manfrotto 054 Ball head and Phottix Remote Timer.Inspiration
I’ve seen different beautiful images of this place taken by known photographers which inspired me to have a shot of my own.Editing
Many techniques are use in field and post processing to obtain this final output. Firstly, I’ve processed it in adobe camera raw for exposure and white balance adjustment. Then, In Photoshop for some color and contrast adjustment. Finally, finishing it up by sharpening it for the web and for print. In my camera bag
I usually brought two camera bodies when I travel, the Canon 5D Mark III as my main camera body and Canon 6D for back up, Canon wide angle lenses the 16-35 f/4 and 16-35 f/2.8. Plus along with Canon zoom lens 70-200 f/4 IS and several other graduated and ND filters.Feedback
Considering the height for this is an elevated place of around 11,000 ft. above sea level, weather will be colder. There’s a need to gear up for the breeze and have the stamina to hike uphill. When you reach the place you must still have resume energy to start capturing the image at different angle.
