The USS Battleship Missouri Memorial, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii https://ussmissouri.orgTime
This was taken 25 Aug 2015 at 5:26 PM while I was taking a tour of the memorial. Less than an hour after this shot those beautiful clouds turned in a really heavy rain storm. Lesson learned. Some shots you wait for, some you don't. :) The challenge was to be patient enough to wait for the least amount of visitors in the shot.Lighting
Just sunlight with partly cloudy skies.Equipment
My trusty Sony A99 with the Sigma 24-70 F2.8 lens.Inspiration
The ship itself and the history it holds. I took several pics and was so impressed with the size of her. Equally impressive was the story about the how she become about and the stories of the sailors that served on here. Truly an awesome ship and hail to her sailors.Editing
Here's a secret. It's not truly HDR but I'm sure many of you know that, Using Lightroom for some adjustments and Photoshop with a few layers and blending modes, I was able to come up with something that looks kinda HDRish. I love to play around to see what so many of the tools that both programs do.In my camera bag
I keep my Sony A99 close at hand "loaded up" with a Sigma 24-70 F2.8 lens but I have my Sony 85mm F2.8 and Sony 70-200mm 2.8 at the ready.Feedback
Be patient when shooting in tourist areas but beware that if you are with a group, they will leave you. :)
