Location
This photo was taken in the dining room in my home which I convert to a make shift studio on weekends and some evenings.Time
This was taken on a Saturday afternoon about 2:30PMLighting
I used two very inexpensive strobes with small soft boxes, very little ambient light and a black velvet background to take away some light.Equipment
I used my Sony SLT-A99V with a 70-200mm2.8 G sense. Two strobes with small soft boxes controlled with radio triggers on rear sync.Inspiration
I was originally attempting to shoot a still life shot that would resemble a classic painting but I could get what I was feeling. After an hour of fiddling around with the composition I tilted my head in frustration and saw a view similar to this and I liked what I saw. I dumped the idea about the painting and decided to do something a little different.Editing
Yes. I use Lightroom to correct some minor issues with contrast, sharpness and vibrance. I also ensured that the proper lens profile was applied as I always do.In my camera bag
My A99 with a Sigma 24-70mm2.8 attached along with a Sony 85mm2.8, one speed light, extra batteries and my Lenspen set.Feedback
Yes, when shooting a staged shot such as a commercial shot, sometime the best shot is nothing like what you planned. Always keep your eyes and mind open to see another opportunity.
