Location
I took this photo from along Wakefield Quay in Nelson New Zealand. We are looking out through The Cut & out to Tasman Bay. The Cut is Nelson 's entrance into Nelson habour.Time
This is a sunset shot. I shot this photo on my way home from work at about 5:40 pm.Lighting
In this photo its all natural light.Equipment
I used a Canon EOS 600D with the 18 mm to 250 mm Canon lens. Its a hand held shot.Inspiration
Well in this area is so lovely to take photos at sun rise sunset or any time of day. It's 1 of my favourite place's to take photos. You get really nice colours in the sky & reflecting in the sea. You can get anything from small yachts to big container ships coming through The Cut so always something going on in this area.Editing
I only do basic processing with Photoshop Elements 11. I used for this photo auto enhance. In my camera bag
I have in my kit bag: 2 x Canon EOS 5D Mark ll bodies, a Tamron 28 mm to 300 mm & a Tamron 150 mm to 600 mm lens, RC-6 remote, ND & ND graduated filters, a small torch & some cleaning gear.Feedback
The only advice is to always have a camera with you, you never know when a good shot will come along. I always have all my gear in the car. When you find a good spot don't give up if the shots don't always turn out the way you want them to. Sometimes we go back to the same place time after time & it'll always be different.
