Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo "The Haven" Atawhai, Nelson, New Zealand.

Time

I took this photograph mid afternoon.

Lighting

It was the lighting that caught my eye. The natural sunlight made the reflection of this dingy. I find winter can be better for photographing reflections.

Equipment

Canon 600D with 18 m to 55 mm kit lens.

Inspiration

This dingy is a well know photographic subject for Nelson photographers . I love photographing good reflections if one can shoot them & at this place you don't get much background distraction form the main subject.

Editing

I just changed contrast, light shadow's a bit that's about it.

In my camera bag

These day I have 2 x Canon 5D MKll's, 28 mm to 300 mm Tamron lens, 150 mm to 600 mm Tamron lens, infra-red remote, some ND graduated & ND filters.Cleaning gear. A small torch. Level. Spare battery.

Feedback

The only advice is to have your subject in mind & look for very calm water. If possible go early morning (even though I took this shot in mid afternoon).
