No clouds and the light was extremely bright and white. I was surprised how fast the Sun came up.Equipment
I used Canon EOS 7D, Canon 100-400mm @ 400.0 mm.Inspiration
Death Valley National Park is a beautiful place and Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes is one of its jewels. The Sand Dunes’ ephemeral shapes and textures are very inspiring to me. Better take that shot now, because tomorrow it will not be there.Editing
Shot RAW. I adjusted the light/contrast, sharpened. In my camera bag
I use only Canon equipment EOS70D, EOS80D. 3 zoom lenses. 100-400mm. 28-135 mm. 18-55mm. Manfrotto tripod. Manfrotto Backpack 50. B+H ND Filter 8x.Feedback
Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes is a beautiful place to photograph. The morning and afternoon light offers endless photo opportunities. I found it difficult to walk on the dunes. The sand is so fine your feet sink in rather deep, plus with all the equipment I shlep around it's even more difficult. You have to dress appropriately. If you go for the sunrise it’s very cold and it gets warmer quite fast. Use sunscreen and have plenty of water.
