Behind The Lens

Location
This photo was taken at one of the most famous surf spots in the world, Waimea Bay on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii.
Time
12/8/09, 8:00:35 AM
Lighting
I didn't have much control over the lighting. It was mostly overcast with short periods of bright sun.
Equipment
I used Canon EOS 50D, Canon 100-400 mm. @ 400.0 mm., hand held.
Inspiration
It’s so impressive to see the raw power of the ocean. 30+ foot waves.
Editing
Shot RAW. I adjusted the light/contrast, sharpened.
In my camera bag
I use only Canon equipment. Now I use EOS70D, EOS80D. 3 zoom lenses. 100-400mm. 28-135 mm. 18-55mm. Manfrotto tripod. Manfrotto Backpack 50. B+H ND Filter 8x.
Feedback
Use a long lens. Don’t go too close to the ocean and stay only on dry sand.
