Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken in Oto?ec, a small Village in Slovenia.

Time

The photo was made on 2019 July the 28th at about 11:00

Lighting

The only source of light was natural light. It was a relatively cold and very rainy day. The lighting conditions were not outstanding but exciting and just right for some great pictures :-)

Equipment

For this shot I used my Nikon D810 in combination with the great Tamron SP 70-200mm f2.8 Di VC USD Lens.

Inspiration

On this day I had the idea to take some nice Swimware photos but unfortunately it started to rain and didn't stop. So we changed the plan an tryied to make some great Swimware pics in the rain.

Editing

Always more or less! After selecting the photos to edit, I choose the color look for each set, then I correct, if necessary, the light of the picture. Then the picture is cropped if necessary and that's it.

In my camera bag

For my portrait shootings I usually use my full format DSLR with a set of (relatively) fast primes: A 50mm, a 85mm or 90mm macro, the magnificent Sigma 24-35mm f2.0 Art Zoom for the slightly wider angles and the 70-200mm f2.8.

Feedback

Here the model had to be very tough due to the heavy rain. But, with a good idea and a relaxed model in a good mood you have nearly everything you need. Then choose your shooting location and watch the light during the shoot. A camera with manual control (but don't forget: the best camera is the one you have with you) and then go for it. And yes, don't forget to do some the post-processing ;-)
