Location
This photo was taken right outside a theater in Odgen, UT. I had my camera with me because my brother was graduating that day.Time
It was taken around 6:30pm. This was after I followed my brother around taking graduation photos and spotted a rose bush.Lighting
It wasn't a planned photo so I wasn't really paying attention to the lighting at the time. It was a spur of the moment, I want to take this image.Equipment
This was shot with a Canon T5i with a 18mm-55mm kit lens. It was also taken handheld with manual focus which sadly did not work out in my favor.Inspiration
At the moment of the photo I don't thing that there was anything inspiring me to take the image. I saw a rose bush with unusually colored roses. It was gorgeous and I wanted to capture it. Now looking back I love this sort of photo and I love anything that is bright and happy.Editing
I did a little bit of lightening to the photo because it was starting to get dark at this time of day. I also did a little burning of the flower petals. It was a very basic edit.In my camera bag
As a beginner photographer starting out I sadly admit I still have the basic Canon camera bag they send in package deals to you. I have in there my trusty Ti5, a 18mm-55mm kit lens and my nifty 50. I occasionally bring along a Sunpak tripod.Feedback
Have a really low aperture. That is what creates the blur in the background. You may want a better lens thought, and the bohken will turn out better. Also I would suggest manually selecting your focal points and using auto focus. I have since then learned about this nifty feature.
