Kudos on this for being your first wedding, and congratulations on being chosen as a finalist! ( How I hate those noseeums...they eat you up at sunrise as well! )

This was achieved with off camera flash held by my assistant. I had to be careful to balance the flash in a way that highlighted the couple while maintaining the colors in the background.Equipment
Tamron 24-70 2.8 lens with image stabilization, canon 5d MkII and a canon 580 Flash.Inspiration
The couple! One of their "dream shots" was a sunset kiss, so we ran down to the shore by the venue to get this photo specifically.Editing
I cleaned up the skin, did color correction and some other small tweaks in lightroom. I might have exported to photoshop for a few things, but can't recall. :)In my camera bag
Canon DSLR lineup, 24-70 Tamron 2.8 lens with image stab., Canon 70-200 with image stab., Monfrotto Tripod/Monopod, flashes and LED video lights.Feedback
Practice using off camera flash! It's imperative for sunset photos that aren't silhouettes.
