Behind The Lens

Location

Late afternoon on a Saturday just before the wedding on a hill top venue ranch.

Time

The sun was just low enough to bounce back onto the metal glass roof and created this very soft effect.

Lighting

Always! Look around and evaluate where the light is coming, hitting or reflecting from. Such a soft light was shining on this bride that I threw my silver reflector down. Nothing compares to natures light.

Equipment

I shoot with a Nikon D750 and for this photograph I knew I wanted to blur everything in the background and foreground so the 50mm was my best bet.

Inspiration

Using the veil to create motion, like something is actually happening in the scene is a great way to change up the static just stand there pose.

Editing

Very little. Just increased the saturation of the colors a little.

In my camera bag

EVERYTHING! lol

Feedback

The trick is where is the sun, is there a window or big glass reflecting light onto something else? Stick your model/bride in between it. Watch the magic.
