You have given 2020 a positive swing that is really (nice) positive, a contribution to the Year 2020 Collection. As always, the competition will be tough, which, as an added consequence, makes a possible victory taste very sweet. Good luck and probably for the … time: Happy New Year and stay healthy in 2021!

Location
I took this photo of Springfield Falls in Mercer County, Pennsylvania which is about an hour outside of Pittsburgh. I have started taking my kids and their cameras, ages 10 and 18, on short photo road trips to find local waterfalls we have never been to.. This photo was taken on our first trip to this local waterfall. It's located about an hour outside of Pittsburgh.Time
This is one of my most favorite photos and it was taken at the worst time of day - High noon on a cloudless day!! This just goes to show you just have to get out there and shoot and good things will happen.Lighting
Having never been to this waterfall before i was unsure about the lighting. Thankfully the falls are in a shallow valley that is surrounded by some old growth forest that provided great diffused light despite the time of day.Equipment
This was shot handheld on my Nikon D7500 with the kit 18-55 Nikkor lens. 1/13 of a second at F20 with ISO 100Inspiration
Covid and my kids inspired this photo. After quarantining for many many months I decided to get my kids ages 10 and 18 (who both have their own Nikon cameras), out of the house and go on short day trips to shoot waterfalls. I researched local waterfalls on Google within on an hour of our city and made a list. This was our first one and ended up being my favorite of all the trips.Editing
I shoot all my photos in RAW so yes, i did some post processing work on this photo but not much. The only thing i did was to convert to black and white and add some contrast and clarity. I liked the color version but when I saw this is in black and white I fell in love with it and the vibe it had. It became this mysterious, ethereal, other worldly feeling photo to me that I just love to look at over and over again. In my camera bag
My bag usually contains just about all my equipment. I put my D7500 and all my lenses, extra battery, cards, filters and my flash in it. It can be quite heavy though!Feedback
My advice to capture something similar would be to just get out and shoot. Go to new places and try different things. Don't be afraid to experiment. Not everything will turn out but you may just end up with one of your all time photographs like I did.
