I took this photo in the Kruger National Park. This beauty was having a time of his life with the dried-up thorn trees.Time
We were taking a afternoon drive through the Kruger National Park. Because of the heat, most of the elephants were at the water holes, but this one was having a feast on the thorn trees. He was not aggressive at all, just strolling between the trees, looking for one that he could destroy.Lighting
I enjoy natural light and with this one, the sun was still high.Equipment
This was shot with a Canon 70D. We were driving with a VW Combi, so we were high enough to have a good view of him.Inspiration
I love capturing the beauty of these giants. When they look directly at you, it is as if they can look right into your soul. They truly are magnificent animals, with kind hearts.Editing
I was fortunate enough to just take a good picture of a beautiful animal. In my camera bag
I would not trade anything for my Canon 70D. The 18 - 135mm lens is always handy, but I love my (slightly heavier) Tamron 18 - 400mm lens. I enjoy the weight of the body and lens, as if the fit is perfect for my hand.Feedback
When you capture something that speaks to your heart or is close to home, you cannot go wrong. Don't limit yourself, but enjoy taking pictures of what is beautiful to YOU. When you love what you do and love what you see, you kinda capture that love forever in a photo. Go out and love what you do.
