Behind The Lens

Location

We took this picture in Bischofszell (Switzerland). You can see the old bridge in the background (first mentioned in the year 1325, stone bridge built 1479-1487).

Time

The time was late afternoon around 17:00 in may

Lighting

warm temperature, bright sun light with some Clouds. the sun was already behind the trees and I felt the conditions were perfect for a classical flash use: the sun behind the Model, a few trees between Jasmine and the sun.

Equipment

Canon EOS 5DsR, Canon EF 16-35/4 IS USM (16mm), Elinchrom ELB 400, Reflector 18cm with grid. For this shot the ELB was set to "normal Sync Speed": Tv 1/250, Av 9.0, ISO 100, ELB 5.6

Inspiration

A Dress I have never used before, a gorgeous day and Jasmine :-D

Editing

I added overall contrast, more contrast to everything exept the model, recovering the bridge, made the vignette more visible and gave it a touch of bluish-warm touch.

In my camera bag

Camera, EF 16-35/4 IS, EF 24/1.4 II, EF 35/1.4 II, Sigma 50/1.4 Art, EF 85/1.2 and EF 70-200/2.8 IS II - my bag is big and heavy...

Feedback

It doesn't have to be High Sync Speeds all the time. Sometimes a classical Approach is as good or even better - my2cents
