Interesting use of overexposure to draw the eye to the subject. I like it. Congratulations on being a Finalist.

Location
The photo was taken in a wood near the sea (Adriatic Sea).Time
It's morning of a cloudy and foggy winter day.Lighting
The lighting was very flat and boring, but the winter humid day saturated the colors of the foliage.Equipment
This was shot on a Canon EOS 6D camera with 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM II lens and the Canon EF 2X III extender.Inspiration
Sometimes i do a walk at sea in winter, the weather was very boring for some seascapes/landscapes shots, so i decided to walk through the wood adjacent the sea.Editing
I've only do little adjustments of levels and corrections of exposure. In my camera bag
Usually, when I take this kind of excursions, I carry with me a solid Tripod (Sirui N3204), the camera (Eos 6D), an wide angle zoom (Canon 16-35), a standard lens (Canon 50mm f/1.2), a telezoom (Canon 70-200 f/2.8), a teleconverter (Canon 2x) and filters (Lee Filters)Feedback
If you have planned an landscape session, don't be discouraged by the weather conditions or other aspect you haven't calculated, turn around you, observe, take inspirations by details, change the lens, be curious, search and shot !
