Such a great image. I have only seen Iceland once - that was in Winter and was fantastic. But i want, no need, to see this is warmer months.

I like the way you chose to shot that landscape, it makes me feel the precariousness and fragility of the human-made element (the house) in opposition to the power of nature. Great!

Behind The Lens
Location
I took that shot on the edge of the Arnarstapi village in the south of the Snæfellsnes penisula in Iceland.Time
It was 4pm.Lighting
Oh, the light! When I arrived to the location the sun was shinning, I walked around for about 20 minutes. During that time the weather has changed completely and the light became very dramatic. Literally 1 minute after that shot the rain was pouring like crazy.Equipment
I used Nikon D610 with Nikkor 16-35mm f4G VR + B+W Kaesemann Polarizer. No tripod as I didn't plan that shot, but there was no time for running to the car where I left my tripod. I put my camera on the rocks. Thanks to the VR the image is sharp!Inspiration
I noticed the storm brewing on the top of the mountains. I had a plan to drive there, but it came to where I was very quickly!Editing
Not much, just a standard post-processing - more contrast, sharpening and local lighting adjustment.In my camera bag
When I shoot landscape I always carry Nikon D610 and Nikkor 16-35mm f4G VR with B+W Kaesemann Polarizer, I also have the Haida ND1000 filter for UWA lens. Very often I also have Nikkor 70-300 mm f4.5-5.6G VR and Nikkor 50mm f1.8G.Feedback
Watch the weather and be ready to shoot any time. Especially if the forecast says sunny with rain periods - that usually means that the light will be changing rapidly and often. The best weather for landscape shots is when the weather is changing!
