Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken in Munich in the summertime. We walked across the streets and then we found this cool street with the cobblestones near a park.

Time

At the afternoon, when the sun came down a bit. I think it was about 4 p.m.

Lighting

This set-up ist simple but powerful. Just a cloudy sky which acts like a giant softbox and a model at the bottom. We placed her at the edge of a tunnel, so we had this natural falloff at the background, no need for retouching. Thats all, I almost never use a reflector, but here we did, as a seating for our model, so her jeans wouldn't become dirty ^^

Equipment

I used what I use most of the time, my Nikon D800e and a transformed Leica Summicron-R 50mm which has this awesome look and bokeh I love so much!

Inspiration

oh, I love black and white portraits and as I saw this location and the light falling in, I was sure, I had to shoot her there.

Editing

This picture is almost out of cam, there are only minor global adjustments in Lightroom.

In my camera bag

35, 50, 85 and my Nikon D800e. The 35 and 85 are Sigma Art lenses and the 50 is my beloved Leica Summicron-R.
