This is actually taken at the lake of constance, it was a very special evening with a really impressing sky. So I decided to go out and take a few shots. My opinion was, to shoot a few birds flying into the sunset but with a few dissapointing shots I made my way home and in the meantime the sun set - I felt a tinge of melancholy - suddenly the horizon turned into these intense colors and the sky turned into this deep blue, the stars begun to shine and I thought I had to capture this special moment.Time
At sundown ^^Lighting
To capture the whole range of colors I had to shoot multiple exposures to manually blend them together later in photoshop.Equipment
This was one of my first shot with the Nikon D800e and my Tamron 24-70 2.8 which I love for its wide angle qualities! from 24 to 50 its tack sharp and there are no abberations or other problems. A tripod was neccessary because of the long exposure it took to take that shots.Inspiration
The situation itself. Most of the time I let go and allow some things to run their course. Thats the best you can do for shots of the nature of any kind I think. You can't plan with mother earth :)Editing
Yes, as I said it is a stack of 3 shots where I exposed for the stars, for the creek and somewhere between. At the End I manually blended it in photoshop to get this picture. Some minor adjustments in Lightroom before and after the retouch and thats it. There was not to much to do, because of this amazing sunset. In my camera bag
Oh, my camera (Nikon D800e) and my Nikon 50mm 1.8 which I hopefully can exchange with a Sigma Art 50mm sometimes ;) and there's my 24-70 tamron 2.8 (2015) and an 85mm 1.4 by Sigma. Some cloths and lens cleaner, and - depending on what I want to shoot - the Nikon 135mm 2.0 or the Sigma 105mm 2.8. But I don't count that much on technical things, not anymore ;) I had to learn by myself what some photographers told me in the past. The photographer takes the image not the camera. And the truth behind this little sentence is so liberating!!Feedback
I think the most important thing for this shot is, that you don't need a big camera for that. You can do this with every camera you can adjust manually and that allows you to shoot in raw. Don't get stuck with the technics, let your eye decide! Good luck to everyone! :)
