Wow Samuk, this is a spectacular image, & one that I have not seen before. I really love the way that the greens in the caldron pop out. Was this picture taken from a drone, kite, plane or by some other means?
FWIW, I noticed that this image also appears on Google Map at: https://goo.gl/maps/CmASdLnDN122 without any author attribution, or copyright notice.

Location
This picture was taken in the small Azorean island of Corvo. This day was surely one of the most amazing of my life. I was probably the only person in the world to have the opportunity to be flying over that island in a military helicopter.Time
Surely this is my best work, but also the most unexpected. I remember being in my workplace (Lajes Air Base) and to be given an order by my Lieutenant Colonel. Slid from one of the walls of the volcanic crater of the Crow Island about ten tons of earth to the sea and created new islets, and my mission was to take off with the crew in a helicopter of the Portuguese Air Force EH-101 Merlin and go document the event. It was taken on 6 November 2012.Lighting
I did not have great opportunity to worry about the light. To take the pictures was necessary to open the side door of the helicopter and be hanged by a winch. I could only communicate with the onboard mechanic through gestures so that the pilot would raise helicopter to greater height to get the best plan. At the time I was a photographer with little experience and feeling propellers half a meter from my head, the wind extremely strong in the face and looking down and seeing the height of the ground where I was, I did not have the possibility to worry about the conditions light.Equipment
This was shot whit a Canon 550D and a Canon EF-S 18-55mm lens f / 3.5-5.6 IS II.Inspiration
What inspired me to take this picture and several other on this day was the opportunity given to me to fulfill the mission that I had been assigned. I had the perfect idea which should record all moments of that trip. No one ever had the opportunity to register that natural event in such a remote location. He knew that would be the first and unique pictures taken in those conditions and in that place. I had to show the world the beauty and magic of that place lost in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.Editing
Due to my lack of experience concerning the image processing, this photo had only a slight color adjustments, contrast and white balance. In my camera bag
I am an amateur photographer. At the time I used a Canon 550D that belonged to my job. Nowadays I use the Canon 600D with Canon EF-S 18-55mm f / 3.5-5.6 IS II and Canon EF-S 55-250mm f / 4-5.6 IS STM. I bring also quite a few times a tripod.Feedback
When you have an opportunity like this I advise you to seize the moment and try as best as you can record the magic and beauty of places like this. Everyone deserves to know the beauty of these places and we never know if anyone else can go back to that place.
