I took the photo during the Great Kansas City Balloon Festival held in Bonner Springs , Kansas in 2015.Time
It was just after sunset in October so I would approximate the time being about 7:30pm.Lighting
It was Kansas and a beautiful October sunset and then the balloons were lighting up all at the same time.Equipment
The camera used for the photo was a Canon 70D with a Canon EF 16-35mm 1:2.8 L II USM lens. A tripod was also used.Inspiration
I have always wanted to get pictures of hot air balloons and when they had this festival I just had to go. Major disappointment was that for two nights, the winds were blowing to fast for the balloons to launch. They have not had the show back for the past five years but hoping for this year!Editing
I used Lightroom to lighten the photo and bring out the colors a little more than how I originally shot the photo. In my camera bag
Usually two Canons now, but back then the 70D, a 100-400mm telephoto lens, ND and CP filters, shutter release cable and a tripod.Feedback
Since this was my first experience at a balloon festival, I did not know what to expect. I did a lot of walking and talking to others getting advice but got lucky with the shot for being at the right spot at the right time.
