Location
At the waterfall on a small river in the Fana district on the outskirts of Bergen, Norway.Time
Mid-afternoon on a cloudy day. The place is shaded by trees anyway so a long exposure isn't so difficult even on a sunny day.Lighting
As stated, it was a cloudy day in a shady location so the LE was easy to get.Equipment
Nikon D3100 with a Tamron 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 lens, variable filter and tripod.Inspiration
I lived in Norway for 9 years and if, as a photographer, you can't be inspired by that country's natural beauty, then give up!Editing
The image was processed in Lightroom, bringing out the shadows as I usually like to slightly underexpose, especially with the contrast between white water and much darker surroundings. Sharpened and given a bit of a colour boost, reducing the blue to keep the water as white as possible. In my camera bag
Nikon D5300, Nikor 18-55, Tamron 18-woo, variable filter, tripod, lens wipes and an emergency can of beer!Feedback
Get out there, after lockdown, and explore. I was in Bergen for 2 years before I even knew the falls existed. Keep a camera handy at all times and do what photographers do. Nose around in unlikely places and uncover hidden gems. If you find a scene like this come back with the right equipment and take a hundred or more shots...
