This photo was taken on a horse farm in Kwa Zulu Natal in South Africa I did a workshop with one of our local experts and this was my interpretation of the dayTime
We met at around 14h00 on this lovely autumn day, but this is about 17h00 toward the end of the dayLighting
We timed the photos to be taken down the arch of trees at around sunset for optimum lightingEquipment
I used my canon 24 - 100mm my all time on my Mk 3..my always ready to shoot kit as it gives me width and macro if I need itInspiration
The little model with the red hear was most amazing and I requested to do a workshop with her when she is available, I travelled 4 hours from my home to get to do the shoot with her. She was the best ever model big or small i ever worked withEditing
The post processing was obviously to remove the plastic chair from under her feet and then add the shadow and tilt the angleIn my camera bag
My kit consist of Canon mk 2 and 3 as well as 105mm Macro, the 24-100mm and the 400mm plus my new fixed 85mmFeedback
The only way this kind of shot works is if you plan every small detail, it is not so much a photoshop job as it is a detailed compilation of exactly what you want. The background with nothing in front is the most important shot, then the model on the chair or table or whatever you will cut out..then the ability to use the pen tool to cut out your un wanted items is also very important. The next very important bit of detail is to be aware of the shadows where it would show if it was real, that will make the image look fake or real.
