Location
This was shot in Moraine Lake, Banff National Park.Time
It was taken just before midnight in summer.Lighting
A few yards away on my right was the Moraine Lake lodge which illuminated the canoes and the surrounding area.Equipment
I used a Canon 6D, with a 16-35 mm f/2.8L lens, mounted on a tripod.Inspiration
I love shooting the night sky and Moraine Lake provided the right orientation and perfect foreground for the shifting Milky Way.Editing
Yes, I opened the file in Photoshop where I played with white balance, increased the exposure and lifted the shadows a bit.In my camera bag
Aside from a wide angle lens, I always carry my ND filters, CPL and shutter release with me.Feedback
I start with 3500 K for white balance, ISO 3200, f/2.8, 25 sec for shutter speed and go from there. I used the electronic level of my camera and make sure that my focusing is to infinity.
