Behind The Lens

Location
This was shot at the Steveston Fisherman Wharf in Richmond, Greater Vancouver Area (BC, Canada).
Time
While waiting for the sunset at the Steveston Fisherman Wharf, we we were fussing with our Old English Sheepdog. I was down on my knees to give him tummy rubs and lots of hugs. This vantage point is what my puppy sees all day
Lighting
The setting sun was directly in front of the camera which was shielded by the umbrellas.
Equipment
Canon 6D and 16mm-35mm.
Inspiration
It is interesting how small children (and our pets!) perceive the world differently than we do. They are closer to the ground and see the grown-ups as "giants". While waiting for the sunset at the Steveston Fisherman Wharf, we we were fussing with our Old English Sheepdog. I was down on my knees to give him tummy rubs and lots of hugs. This vantage point is what my puppy sees all day.
Editing
I played with curves to enhance color and contrast and lifted the shadows in Photoshop.
In my camera bag
I always bring a wide angle lens, remote shutter and filters with me.
Feedback
Shooting from different angles and levels should always be considered. I remember going back to a place I frequented in my childhood thinking how the place had shrunk. Being able to view the world through the eyes of a child can be rewarding.
