What a stunning picture. I love everything about it. However if your ever in that location again I'd put a model in the water.

Such a great photo! I love how you have captured the entire castle in the water as well!

Location
This photo was taken at Schloss (castle) Moylan, Bedbug-Hau, Germany, which is 9 kilometers from the border with Holland.Time
I shot this at around 8pm.Lighting
As we do so often in landscape photography I waited for the right light, hoping there would be some clouds to reflect the setting sun. I didn't get much, but at least I did get some clouds to give the sky added color and texture.Equipment
I shot this from a tripod mounted Nikon D810 using a Nikon 14-24 lens. No filter used.Inspiration
I had seen some photos of this castle online. It struck me a unique and beautiful, so I wanted to go see it for myself and get my own shot of it.Editing
Yes, I processed it in Adobe Lightroom as is necessary with a raw file. No special effects of photoshop. This photo is an accurate representation of the scene as it appeared at that time.In my camera bag
Nikon D810, Nikon 14-24mm, 24-70mm, 70-200mm, Sigma 50mm f1.4 art, Nikon Speedlight, headlamp, Manfrotto tripod, various ND and Polarizing filters.Feedback
I like shooting castles as they are great subjects. Usually beautiful, always interesting. As for composition and light, like most I prefer sunset and blue hour shots, but on some castles with the right daytime sky that works too. So, really what I do is research a castle and then go stake the out, hoping to capture the optimal light.
