Location
I took this picture in an abandoned factory in Asia . It was like a 3000 sqm building in which I went with a model that I met a day before . I loved the place and I hope to go back there again as there where so many nice spots to do some dark atmosphere photographs . The factory was so big you can't achieve all of them in one day .Time
We came into that place at 14h30 and shot until 17h00 . Anyway , we couldn't have stayed much more as there were no power in there . It's not that I am very scared of the dark but you never know what can happened shooting in places like that late at night , you never know what kind of people you can meet in there ...Lighting
Well , I had in my car all my strobes but as there were no electricity they just stayed in there . I had to use two speedlites in most part of the building . But this shot was made using natural lights coming in from a broken window .Equipment
I did this photograph using only a Canon 6D with a 50mm 1.4 Sigma Art lens . Nothing else .Inspiration
When I saw this old cart , I knew that it will be a great accessory to do some great shots with it . I think I got inspired when I saw it . I was laying down on the ground , and it gives a great perspective to the shot I think . Even though the laundry from the hotel couldn't clean my shirt properly after that as it was just full of unwashable stains ...Editing
I did crop the image a bit to give that long shape to it . I only did then the black and white editing on Lightroom .In my camera bag
It depend if I am going out specifically for shooting or not , for exemple for a street photography session . Of course it is hard and a bit risky to carry all your expensive gear everywhere all the time . When I am travelling by car , then I will probably have my stobes and soft boxes in the back . If I am travelling by plane to other places I will then only have my camera of course and my 2 speedlites .Feedback
Well , I am not a really advanced and renowned photographer who can give a very professional advice . Concerning the models , I always prefer to meet them a day before to discuss of the different ideas we have . I like to shoot in abandoned places and it can be scary for some of them to meet directly on the spot . But to me , If you have a great place to shoot , a friendly model and you are shooting in a fun and good atmosphere , you will see all of this as a good result on the photographs !
