I have several old cameras just like this one but I cannot achieve a shot like this - your photo is awesome!

This was done in open shade, out of the harsh sunlight.Equipment
Canon 60D with 70-200mm Tamron 2.8.Inspiration
I have several old cameras like this one, and I loved the layout that included the WWII leather flying cap and other similar items from that era.Editing
I used Photoshop for the basic stuff, and the On One Perfect Effects 8 for the vintage touches. In my camera bag
At the time I had my Canon 60D with 70-200mm Tamron, and a Canon 18-55 EFS IS. I'm slowly getting away from the heavy DSLR stuff and moving to the Olympus M43 equipment. Much lighter, great quality.Feedback
Look for the unusual. While there can be a lot of big, grand things going on at an event there are also a lot of smaller scenes waiting to be discovered. Sometimes looking small rather than large can help set your photos apart from everyone else's. Nothing wrong with capturing the big scene stuff too, just be mindful of the small things!
