Great capture, tones, creativity & sinister/sadness of clown 'behind bars'; love it - well done!

I'm not sure why this is but I'm not comfortable with clowns yet I've played a clown go figure
really like this in B/W really works here the clown behind bars he has to hold is perfect.

What an amazing phototure. I think clowns are creepy but this one - not so much. There is something vulnerable in his face. Just a great phototure overall!

Freaky, but very well done! Although this photo was taken a few years ago, it has particular relevance in 2016 with all the weird clown sightings in cities around the U.S.

I used two AlienBee 800s, one with a 24x36 soft box off to the right of the camera (maybe 30 degrees) angled down (maybe 40degrees), the other just had a small reflector dish on it and was maybe two feet off the ground aimed up towards the backdrop (maybe 45 degrees). I don't remember what the power of each was set to.Equipment

I wanted to do a clown shoot with Chaz,he wanted head shots, so we did both.... Chaz always had a certain kind of sadness behind the makeup and I wanted to capture that. I just happened to notice the window bars sitting against the wall in my garage and decided to see what we could get with it. It helped capture something about the man behind the clown that I wanted to capture and none of the other images from that shoot were able to.Editing

Take your time and things can and will happen, do not rush. It helps to have an idea of what you are aiming for, but be flexible and open to whatever comes to you... you never know what an old (seemingly) worthless window bar thingy can turn into given the right circumstances.
