Location
The photo was taken in Florence, Italy, where I actually live. It was quite small room, but I always find a way to create space to make my quick shots as the inspiration comes to me.Time
I can not define a right moment for my shots, because what happens after that, gets to be more important for me. These shots are taken at different moments of the day, the first one was while making the separate faces and postures in the morning, and the other one during the afternoon.Lighting
Photography is all about light, and subject. I think that it can create not just dimension, but expressive emotions, sadness, happiness on the people's face. I usually like to improvise, so in this case, I've used just my desk lamp available in that very moment, nothing special, but of course without leaving behind the natural daylight.Equipment
For this photo I used a Canon EOS 600D, not mine, but i think is a good one even for the night portraits, and I really recommend it.Inspiration
I am always attracted by the concept of "the point of view", so originally I was designing an interior work about space-illusion and perception. What happened after was quite interesting. Right after I thought what about trying to represent this concept through a simple shot! Instantly I used my interior prototype and then the action started.Editing
Yes, of course. As I said before, the post-processing is my favorite part, even more than the simply act of photographing. It is the moment when the real fun begins, and I enjoy it a lot. This picture is made of an overlapping process of two images, and the addition of a simple black and white filter. In my camera bag
Actually I don't have my own equipment yet. Since I like a lot of different cameras I just want to try all of them, so usually I use different types I can borrow.Feedback
We have the potential to manipulate every photo we get, so why don't use it to express our feelings, or doubts about reality, love or dreams. For all those people that like this kind of shots, I suggest to capture both side of themselves, showing all their moods, and letting the image in the hand of an uncontrolled creativity which often leads to amazing results. Through my experience I can say that everything we need is just an idea, all the rest gets to be a manipulation of reality.
