The look in this baby'ss eyes is just plain precious! This tiny little cub obviously totally depending on its 400 pound mother. This baby lion is about 4 weeks old.
In this picture, mom is about to coax the babies to the other side of the den, knowing there are humans not far away watching them. The sad thing about many safari destinations is that there are so many vehicles hanging around that the animals are quick to give us the butt view and further protect the young from potential danger and human eyes. I hated that part and regretted I contributed to it with my participation.
I took this photograph in the Tarangira National Park in Tanzania.
