Taken from New Mexico Skies, Mayhill, New Mexico. The observatory where I work has one of the darkest skies in North America; we got it measured at one point, and it was just about the closest one could get to ideal Earth darkness, given the non-ideal condition of the Universe. This photo was something I'd been wanting to try for some time. On the right side, you can see Antares (the brightest red object towards the bottom), Mars just above it, and Saturn over to the right.
