It was interesting to see the stages of this Coneflower, called Echinacea purpurea, sombrero variety. This is the 3rd stage, as the brilliant orange emerges from the initial green it was. The Echinacea plant has been used throughout the years as a medicinal plant both externally & internally, for wounds, burns & insect bites or you can chew the roots for toothache or throat infections, as well as many other uses. Shot this in my backyard using my 18-55mm lens with my Raynox 250 conversion lens.
