We fondly named this curious fellow, Toadie, after saving him one winter. The ground was frozen, which meant he could not hibernate, so I made a home for him using an aquarium and fed him crickets from the pet store all winter. We released him in the spring and I later found him enjoying our backyard pond. I loved how Toadie appears playful, as he looks at me with the duckweed clinging to his skin.
