My first butterfly capture of 2022 and it is a beauty, an Eastern Black Swallowtail. I love the distinctive spots of blue which indicates it is probably a female. Males have less prominent blue markings.

Catskill farms come back to life in the Spring

It is Blackberry season in the Catskills.

I saw this bright orange flower in my meadow, looked it up in my Wildflower book and saw it is called Butterfly-Weed. I went back with my camera and a
