One of the aquarium tanks at the Sea Life Center in Seward contains jellyfish. It is a tall tank with light piercing the water from above causing the jellyfish to stand out against a black backdrop. I think they look rather beautiful. They remind me of celestial bodies floating in the darkness of space save for the fact that they are alive as evidenced by their pulsating through the void. Individual jellyfish are either male or female. The large yellow rings are their reproductive organs. Jellyfish are among the few species that are benefiting by the oceans becoming more acidic due to climate change. Their numbers are going up world wide.
