This image for me is so inspiring. I often say "Any time we are willing to get off the couch, we have an opportunity to capture the best image of our life". To even have an opportunity for this amazing image, I have to get up at 4:30, drive an hour and a half, and hope for the conditions to be just right. But if I don't go I have 0 chance.
I call this "Rise Up" because I see a super hero rising up in the wave. This is a 25-30 foot explosion of water. When the waves get big, there is a backwash or wave that comes off the jetty and smashes into the next oncoming wave. Quite an event and really fun to watch and photograph.
