The lacustrine grotto of Melissani located 2 km. Northwest of Sami in Kefalonia. The natural entrance of the cave is vertical dimensions 40 x 50 m. And created by the collapse of a section of the roof. Artificial entrance with stairs and long underground passage allows the visit to the cave. The lake is 20 m. Below the ground surface and the depth of the water varies from 10 m. To 30 m. Stalactites with odd shapes adorn most of the cave.
