I am revisiting some 10 year old files with today's editing software - and wow. It's also fun to relive one of my favorite trips!
Our first night in Seoul, we dropped off our bags, and started walking. We had no idea what we were doing, where we were going, or even what we were seeing half the time. We started nicknaming neighborhoods - there was the "Plumbing District" - streets full of stores featuring toilets and tools and tubs and such - and this was the area we called the "Lighting District" which appeared to be shops specializing in light bulbs, signage, and the like. I genuinely have no idea what any of this was in reality, but I do know I had to duck down an alley to take this - and that despite being in a city of millions and millions of people, I didn't feel unsafe.
