A long-exposure during a full moon, of Elvis Chapel at the Superstition Mountain, Lost Dutchman Museum in Apache Junction, Arizona.
I used a flashlight to " light paint " The Cholla Cactus (trees), to bring out some detail.
Every cholla cactus I have ever seen is 3-5 feet tall, these guys are monsters standing at nearly 14 feet tall.
I wanted to try and show that these were actually cactus instead of trees.
Elvis Chapel originally sat on Apacheland Movie Studios property a few miles away. After a fire nearly destroyed the chapel and much of the studios in 2004, the remaining buildings were to moved to the museum property.
The death of Elvis Presley in 1977, inspired the chapel to be named after him and served as a catalyst to salvage the Apacheland ruins, even though the fire happened decades after his demise.
The chapel was best known for its idyllic location / role in Elvis's film Charro. It now serves as a museum and wedding chapel.
