The Starr Bumble Bee was the first aircraft to acquire the record of “The World’s Smallest Piloted Plane” after being flown in January 1984 by Robert Starr, its designer. This is a composite photo. Given that it has the colors of a bumble bee and the cartoonish appearance of one, I have given the aircraft a field of clover background, albeit that it gives the illusion of the aircraft being smaller than it really was. The actual plane is on display at the Pima Air and Space Museum in Tucson, Arizona.
