Grasses and I,
soak in golden light,
basking in sun, and soft breeze.
In the distance,
gentle creatures, bob heads,
above the same golden blades,
to determine, if I am foe?
Here,
Far past the horizon...
Are prairies and badlands...
- Vast and wild,
more than the eye can see.
Here,
I envision adventures of cowboys,
on trails filled with dangerous bandits, cattle, and dust.
A place where...
Evening storms, rage, fast wet;
All people and animals
taking shelter, hiding lighting fast,
below booming thunder,
not to be struck, quite yet!
Ferocity of storm over,
predators prowl,
under cover of night.
Foggy light...
Pre-morning glow;
Quickly brightening;
Sun almost blinding...
Turning from warm, to hot.
A baking oven of existence,
this place, a furnace of Summer heat!
Here I find...
A vast, dry, desert expanse;
The sun, taking its toll,
bleaching skeletons of the unfortunate.
Amongst this arid, diverse landscape;
I find, tranquility's arms embracing me;
Her warmth, never better!
In embrace, I notice...
Nature's, wild and gentle creatures,
gathering in field, next to me.
Curious yet cautious;
Wanting to learn more about me?...
Oh, so close...
Nature so near... Critters in grasses,
right next to me.
Summer breezes,
flowing over me.
Nature close,
Yet, soooo far away,
lost, in my day-to-day.
A question to ask: If I may?...
How can we bond better,
on this planet of "We?"
- Getting closer to Mother Nature;
Nurturing her... As she does us;
Each and every day?1

Forrest,
Your image is as poetic as your description. I take photos because I am not a good writer. You are good at both!
