Location
This photo was taken near Stovepipe Wells Campground in Death Valley California.Time
I woke up early hope to get some clouds for a sunrise but instead of some nice high clouds for a great sunrise there were storm clouds moving in. It was starting to snow on the mountains around me and it started to sprinkle as I was looking for a spot were the sand was clean with natural texture and no footprints.Lighting
The lighting was very unusual that morning with the sun coming up behind me and the storm moving in right in front of me. It was amazing to see and what was the most strange is it was calm right where I was.Equipment
I was using A Nikon D610 with a AF-S NIKKOR 16-35mm f/4G ED VR on a tripod.Inspiration
The lighting was so unusual that morning that I think I was actually moving around to much trying to capture as many shots as I could either before the sun came up and or the storm moved in and took the colors away.Editing
I did post processing using Lightroom and ON1 using their contrast software. In my camera bag
I usually carry one camera body, a wide angle zoom and a telephoto zoom. Sometimes a tripod and usually some filters.Feedback
Get up early and be prepared for the changing light ;).
