Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken just barely inside goblin valley state park, right next to to parking lot.

Time

Roughly 1 am when the milky way was aligned correctly.

Lighting

I actually had to shoot the foreground separate from the sky as a long exposure to get enough light on the foreground.

Equipment

For this I used a cannon T5i with Tokina 11-16mm lens.

Inspiration

I saw that little dirt path leading almost directly into the core of the milky way like a bridge between where I stood and the galaxy itself.

Editing

Yep, I dI'd some color correction and exposure correction to achieve that true night time appearance along with blending the foreground in with the sky.

In my camera bag

Lots and lots of camera batteries!! :)

Feedback

Knowing the milky way alignment and picking a nice clear night in the darkest skies you can possibly find makes a big difference.
