Location
My husband (who since past away) gave me a great Christmas gift, a Safari to Africa. This picture was taken in Botswana.Time
We had traveled a long way and suddenly run in to a big herd of Elephants. I was very excited and could hardly wait to take pictures. It was mid-morning as we usually leave early.Lighting
It was a sunny day therefore I used an ISO: 100, f/5.6,Shutter Speed 1/400 and Focal Length 132/10Equipment
My camera was a DMC-FZ50, my first DSL camera with just the lens it came with. I also was not really good in operating it and only used a low megapixel to save space on my SD card. Since we could not leave the vehicle, my camera was hand held and trying to get a good shot since we had 11 people in the vehicle and nobody could stand or move to much. I did not use anything else to get this photo.Inspiration
I love Elephants and these two came very close to my side - so perfect to just keep clicking away.Editing
I processed this photo with Photoshop, turned it in to a black & white, give it extra contrast, and cropped the image. In my camera bag
Since I have two newer canon cameras now, I take both plus several lenses, tri-pod (at times), flash, extra batteries, and several SD cards, a hoodman, .Feedback
Always take enough batteries, sand disk cards, straps, and of course your camera. I also take water and other items incase my trip takes longer then anticipated.
