Location
The image is a merge of multiple images. The image of the model (as found in its original form on my side ) is mixed with a skyline of Bangkok. The line that runs along the model is the same skyline.Time
The picture of the model is taken on daytime in my studio. And the skyline of Bangkok is also daytime.Lighting
The lighting on the picture of the model was done with two Elinchrom soft boxes. To goal was to create a darkness to the picture with deep shadows, a kind of harshness to the image. On this picture that side is cut out, but I still wanted to create a difference between the model and background. By allowing the background to be light and with low opacity standing model forward.Equipment
The picture of the model was shot with a Canon EOS 60D and the lens was Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM. I also used two Elinchrom soft boxes for lighting. The picture of Bangkok was shot with a Canon EOS 60D and the lens was Sigma 18-250mm f/3.5-6.3 DC Macro.Inspiration
Inspired from the vignette to the HBO series True Detective. I worked with a tutorial I found online, but I was not satisfied with the result and started experimenting on my own.Editing
This picture is a combination of several images, so yes - I did post-processing. I think the final Photoshop document consists of up to 100 layers. In my camera bag
I always have with me my dear Canon EOS 7D Mark II and the faithful friend Canon EOS 60D. For lenses I pack a Canon EF -S 17-55mm f / 2.8 IS USM and Sigma 50mm f / 1.4 DG HSM , which I use for portraits and Canon EF 135mm f/2L USM, which I recently purchased and I have not used it that much yet.Feedback
Be creative! The possibilities are endless in Photoshop, so find inspiration from other photographers or tutorials, as I did, and just play.
