Location
This was great location I found in my local nature reserve at lockerbie i do alot of outdoor sessions so I like to scout around for places of special interest.Time
The shot was taken mid afternoon around 3pm it was a bright sunny afternoon which made for some lovely back lightingLighting
Lighting is the key ingredient in any photograph so its good to know how it works beforehand.Equipment
This was shot on a sony A57 33mm 1.8 prime lensInspiration
This was inspired around the scene from winnie the pooh and Christopher robin kara's teddy was her best friend and mum wanted to have something special to remember their childhood byEditing
For this particular shot most of the work was done in camera with a couple of minor adjustments using lightroom mainly with the hue saturation to get that lovely golden afternoon colours. In my camera bag
I am not one for carrying round a mammoth bag of gooding if you you what you are planning then you can plan ahead and take what you need prime example for this session my trusty 35mm one of my favourite lenses for portraits memory cards and battery packs are also good spares to have in your bag in case anything goes wrong mostly whem you least expect it!. Another lens i like to keep to hand is my 70-200mm 2.8 lens this is another of my go to lens for portraits it is alot heavier than the 35mm but worth its weight in gold.Feedback
Timing is everything we walked around the nature reserve for a little while to burn some energy of those little legs or they are less likely to sit and relax we played a game and asked if she could find the gruffalo a character from a story book and she thoughly enjoyed herself. Always check your lighting see where the sun is coming from as this plays one of the biggest roles to get that pefect shot.
