I loved the way how the light filtered through the trees that morning. I have driven down this road a few times since I moved here but on this morning, it was different, special. All you could hear was the birds since the air was perfectly still. I stepped out of the car and sat down and snapped off a few shots.Equipment
Canon 5D Mark ii, 16-35mm Lens, Circular Polarizer.Inspiration
The road kinds vanishes around a bend here and I thought it was pretty the way the trees bent around the road. There isn't much traffic here so I had plenty of time to try a bunch of different shots at different angles. The way the light came through the trees I thought was pretty special. There wasn't much wind either which allowed me to use a deep enough aperture.Editing
I did my normal stuff, color curves, luminosity masks but when I was done it still didn't look finished to me so I ran it through NIK Color Efex Pro and darkened the sides up a touch and played with the foliage color. When I had done that, I thought I had a pretty shot. :)In my camera bag
In what I call my "Man Purse" I carry my two lens I use for landscapes, the 16-35mm and the 24-105mm. Also in my man purse is my batteries, cleaning wipes, lens pen, my ND Filters. In my backpack, which normally stays in the car unless some should happen is my Canon 5D Mark ii and various other equipment. I recently bought the Canon 5D Mark iii and keep my older Mark ii as a backup.Feedback
Often its searching Google maps for interesting things to shoot. If you can compose something in just the right way, anything can be interesting. Old barns, animals, waterfalls (fav), all composed the right way, can be interesting. IMHO, composition is key. Compose your shot so you don't have to crop it later on.
